Third Pine Collective & The Waiting Room presents a night of Asian culture appreciation on Wednesday, Mar. 25 at 5:30 p.m.
Kick off the night at 5:30 with a Chinese ink painting workshop led by Third Pine Collective artist Jingwei Zeng. Participants will experiment with calligraphic brushwork, tonal layering, and the fluid dynamics of ink. Rather than focusing on precise representation, the workshop encourages an intuitive approach—where landscapes emerge through rhythm, energy, and personal experience.
Enjoy the screening of a Chinese cinema classic, Raise the Red Lantern, at 6:30. Directed by Zhang Yimou, one of the most iconic directors in Chinese cinematic history, and based on a short story by writer Su Tong, the movie is a tantalizing exploration into women's private lives and intimate emotions in 1920s China.
