Artist Statement

My digital illustrations celebrate the subtleties of life. I view objects, spaces, feelings, and subjects through a personal lens, examining the way this particular moment in time is felt.

This is expressed through textures via personal photography, digital artifacts, and experimentation via custom brushes.

My primary media is photoshop. With an extensive decade-long history with the program, I utilize and embrace the uniquely digital qualities in this process while seamlessly elaborating on my thought processes on the canvas. My process avoids the usage of AI as a whole and embraces a collaboration of collaged mixed digital formats to create.

As someone who grew up in the digital era, the world I saw from the screen was a second home for me. The certain qualities that designate these two worlds has always fascinated me. Now as a professional artist in the entertainment industry who utilizes digital programs exclusively for my work, I always try to find humanity within industrious tools and processes. It is this push and pull of trying to find creativity through an artistic system rooted in profit that causes a chaos. It's guilt, fear, excitement, and nostalgia all in one. It's a chaos that oscillates violently and resolves itself in the end. It's a wave that swells, crashes, and calms. Much of this process pushes and pulls the canvas, tearing and modifying it's contents, and stretching what I see and viewing it through different angles, lenses, lighting, and color until I find a resolution.
