Yekyoung Kim

Yekyoung Kim is a nonbinary transmasc Korean American artist from the Kansas area, focusing on traditional painting works. They also enjoy working with various mediums and creating mixed media artworks. Graduated in 2020 with a BFA in Illustration & Animation from KU, they strive to create art that is full of whimsy and diversity. They explore concepts of identity as a queer Korean American and what representation means within that space. Having a sense of belonging in such a huge strange world is important, especially to an artist that feels out of place. He hopes to create works that feel familiar and for those in similar shoes.

He is aiming to get an MFA in Painting within the next several years.
